My very first post

well, i've officially begun my journey into the bride world. and while that is an exciting time for most women, like 'Carrie', i'm missing the bride gene. it could be that a short marriage in my 20's left a bitter taste in my mouth for all things "wedding", but i'm going to give this a shot.

let me tell you a little about myself before we begin. i've spent most of my life in the northeast valley in phoenix, arizona. i am the eldest of 5 children, 4 sisters and one brother and i have a beautiful 7 year old daughter from a previous relationship. ok, this one's hard to put in print but i'm almost 40. yep, i'm hitting the big 4-0 in march and i'm contemplating opening a vein because of it. hell, that could be another blog in and of itself, but i digress.

my fiance, D and i have been together for almost 4 years and met through a mutual friend. ok, truth be told i worked for him, got myself fired because of a wretched lesbian HR woman who had it out for me. yup, he fired a single mother! but 4 years later i find myself a stay at home mom, living in a beautiful home and not much to complain about. (ok, to be honest i have plenty to bitch about but i'm in a good mood today so let's just go with it for now.)

i'm sure there's plenty i'm forgetting but as we go along i'll fill in the blanks. for now, i welcome you along on my journey to try and find my bride gene as i plan our wedding.
