On Saturday I went with my friend and bridesmaid, Kate to look at dresses. Specifically, a Maggie Sottero. Sidebar...why are most bridal shop employees so grumpy?? Well, I must've tried on about a dozen dresses before trying on one that just made my heart pitter pat. So elegant, so sexy and made me look like I was a size 0. It is an original designed by the shop owner so I'm guaranteed that no one else would be wearing it and it's a much deeper ivory than I had originally considered. I gave them my deposit and rushed home to tell D the news. I HAD FOUND MY DRESS!
Well, today was a different story. I took my sister to check out the dress and while she did like it, she made a very good point. This dress was not fancy enough to carry off the kind of affair I'm planning to have. Now, you have understand the kind of people that will be at our wedding. Please note that, each of our guests are down to earth and incredibly fun people. But a few of them have limitless funds and it occurred to me that if I go with this dress, a few of the women at our reception might be dressed better than I am. And we can't have that!!! I never really pictured myself in a big ol' white dress with frills, crystals and the works, but it looks like I'm going to be picturing this for a very long time.
It looks like I'll be switching my deposit over to the Maggie Sottero tomorrow and begin planning the big affair.
